Chef Karen's Bio

Chef Karen Nelson grew up eating out of her mother's garden and playing in the fields of her grandfather's ranch; learning what it means to grow and raise food. After graduating from the Seattle Culinary Academy in 2014, she worked at Seattle area restaurants before becoming a Chef Instructor at Farestart. She has worked with local catering companies, taught cooking classes, and worked as a private chef at an intimate wellness facility near Seattle serving guests from around the world. The joy she experiences providing personal and private chef services is what brought her to Down to Earth Cuisine.
