Chef Blaine's Bio

Chef Blaine is a Washington native. He started his culinary journey as a young boy working in his grandparents’ Delis in Seattle. Eventually, he worked at his mom’s restaurant.  She was lucky; it was free labor!  Helping with prep, he could be found washing dishes, sweeping and mopping the floors, and occasionally running food to tables.  He loves every second of the hustle and bustle of restaurant life.  Bonding over food and cooking with his mom is why he became a Chef.

After College, Blaine decided to go backpacking through Europe for three months.  This incredible journey opened his eyes to the world of traveling. Meeting new people, making lifelong friends, exploring new cultures and cuisines was infectious.  Blaine spent the next 20 years traveling from the Caribbean, New York, Hawaii, San Francisco, and finally back in Seattle. Absorbing as much knowledge as possible. Cooking and working his way up the culinary ladder. Honing his beloved Craft.

When Blaine is not in the Kitchen, you will find him hanging out with his son Braxton or in Washington’s nature park!!!

About Down to Earth Cuisine

Down to Earth Cuisine provides meals that are sustainably and responsibly sourced. To help preserve this approach, we use GMO free products, organic when available and wild caught seafood approved by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Guide to Sustainable Fishing.

When we moved over to custom delivery services, it meant having to find new sustainable ways to deliver the meals, using only compostable containers to reduce use and purchasing of plastic. We also work with One Tree Planted a nonprofit organization that plants trees on our behalf to offset our carbon footprint.
