Chef Amanda's Bio
With 14 years of experience in the San Diego culinary industry, Chef Amanda has cultivated a deep passion for food that began in her childhood, inspired by cherished moments spent watching cooking shows with her grandmother. Her journey into the culinary world solidified during high school, where she pursued culinary classes and discovered her calling.
In 2010, Chef Amanda earned her Certificate de Commis de Cuisine from the San Diego Culinary Institute. Following her internship, she honed her skills at The Marine Room under the mentorship of Chef Ron Oliver. She advanced her career as the head chef in the Director’s Room Kitchen at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, where she managed food service for the Board of Directors and catered to high-profile clients.
Most recently, Chef Amanda has taken on the role of Chef de Cuisine at Chef Ron Catering, where she specializes in delivering high-quality fine dining experiences in clients’ homes. In pursuit of deeper meaning in her culinary practice, she obtained her Functional Nutrition Counselor Certificate from the Functional Nutrition Alliance in 2021. This education allows her to incorporate a “Food as Medicine” philosophy into her cooking, creating meals that are both healing and flavorful.
Chef Amanda is dedicated to highlighting the ingredients themselves, focusing on seasonal produce to ensure peak flavor and nutritional value.
Fun Fact
When she’s not in the kitchen, Chef Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and their two spirited daughters, three playful cats, and a sweet puppy. She practices yoga, explores the mountains, and loves visiting the zoo. An avid fan of Harry Potter and astrology, she delights in sharing her interests with others.

About Down to Earth Cuisine
Down to Earth Cuisine provides meals that are sustainably and responsibly sourced. To help preserve this approach, we use GMO free products, organic when available and wild caught seafood approved by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Guide to Sustainable Fishing.
When we moved over to custom delivery services, it meant having to find new sustainable ways to deliver the meals, using only compostable containers to reduce use and purchasing of plastic. We also work with One Tree Planted a nonprofit organization that plants trees on our behalf to offset our carbon footprint.
