Job Description

$22 - $25 an hour

Hiring Bonus of $1000 for next 90 days!

Comfortable cooking in private kitchens, passionate about creating delicious meals, and understands how to develop menu items that meet the dietary preferences of clients. Focused on organic and sustainable ingredients, shop for ingredients, develop menu items that meet both the dietary preferences of the clients and the organizational values of the Company by creating meals that are healthy for both the home and the environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is a list of general job responsibilities for this position. This is not an all-inclusive list and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.

  • Discuss meal preferences and expectations with clients
  • Shop daily for ingredients and other materials as needed for meal preparation
  • Cook delicious meals according to your client’s schedule
  • Plate and serve meals to your clients
  • Clean the kitchen cooking area and store utensils and cooking equipment
  • Represent the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all client and employee interactions
  • Interacts with clients and resolve client concerns in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Communicates with clients accurately, effectively, honestly, and in a timely manner
  • Adheres to all Health Department, OSHA, and WISHA requirements
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients and team members

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time
  • In this position the employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to perform at times on wet floors
  • Ability to stand, talk or hear, and taste and smell
  • Walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Able to speak clearly and listen attentively to team members, supervisors, and clients
  • Must wear a cut resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of restaurant experience a must; previous experience as a personal chef a plus but not required
  • Previous experience creating and cooking different types of cuisines

Education Required

Food safety training and certification required

Skills Required

  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills a as the ability to meet deadlines and the flexibility to move from priority to priority as needed
  • Exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Proven customer service skills; ability to interface effectively with clients and fellow team members. Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Detail oriented and high organizational capabilities
  • Intermediate level proficiency using a computer and MS Office applications
  • Exhibits motivation, determination, and decisiveness
  • Energetic and self-starting with a “Client First” focus
  • Strong interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Interview Process for Personal Chefs
We schedule a phone interview to learn about you and your career goals. This is followed by a working interview with some of Seattle’s best personal chefs. Working interviews are designed to give you a taste of a day in the life. They can involve cooking in a commercial kitchen, shadowing a personal chef in a client’s home, working a private dinner event, or preparing a tasting menu for founder Chef David Boyd.

Personal Transportation
Personal Chefs are expected to provide personal transportation. You will be using your personal vehicle on a daily basis. You will be shopping for groceries on the way to clients homes or the commissary kitchen. Destination clients outside of the Greater Seattle Area are reimbursed for mileage.
