At Down to Earth Cuisine, we offer chefs an alternative to the restaurant hustle and bustle, cooking good food for great people! We offer customized meal preparation services and private dining experiences. Our chefs create their own menus for clients based on dietary preferences. Train with Certified Personal Chef David and take your skills to the next level!

We are on a mission to make a difference in our community through food. Some of our chefs work in our clients’ homes, others focus mostly on the private dinners we offer. You can pick up extra hours, make big tips at special events – there is something for everyone here!
We care about our chefs and understand their time is valuable, so we make sure they serve clients in areas nearest where they live. We offer our services throughout the greater Seattle and neighboring areas – with clients as far north as Lake Stevens and as far south as Puyallup; from east in Sammamish all the way to the Seattle coastline. We optimize travel time for each chef so they can spend less time driving, and more time preparing delicious meals!
What is a typical day?
- Send a sample menu to clients according to their specific dietary needs and discuss and feedback or changes.
- Shop daily for ingredients and other materials as needed for meal preparation at the store of the client’s choosing.
- Cook delicious meals according to your client’s specifications.
- Labeling and storing meals for your clients with detailed reheating instructions.
- Cleaning the kitchen cooking area.
- You’ll have the opportunity to interact with clients and resolve client concerns to ensure an exceptional experience.
Experience and education you’ll bring to the team:
- Minimum of 3 years of restaurant is ideal; previous experience as a personal chef is a plus but not required.
- Food safety training and certification.
- Previous experience creating menus and cooking different types of cuisines.
- Ability to adhere to all Health Department, OSHA, and WISHA requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required when traveling to client’s homes.

- Hospitality - Energetic and self-starting with a “Client First” focus. Ability to interface effectively with clients and fellow team members. Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Intermediate level proficiency using a computer and MS Office applications.
- Exhibits motivation, determination, and decisiveness.
- Strong interest in sustainability and sustainable food practices.

- Able to speak clearly and listen attentively to team members, supervisors, and clients
- Must wear a cut resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument
Masks and gloves worn according to health department standards.
