Chef Dean's Bio
Chef Dean brings over 25 years of culinary expertise, rooted in his beginnings in Honolulu, Hawaii. He launched his career apprenticing at the prestigious Kahala Hilton Hotel and was selected to participate in an esteemed culinary exchange between the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and the Canadian Federation of Chefs and Cooks (CFCC). After a year, he moved to Seattle to take on the role of executive chef at Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion within the Westin Hotel.
In pursuit of new challenges, Chef Dean joined the fine dining team at Tulalip Resort Casino, where he had the honor of presenting a five-course dinner at the renowned James Beard House in New York City. Later, he opened Kama’aina Grindz in downtown Everett, further showcasing his Hawaiian-inspired cuisine and innovative flavors.
Chef Dean holds an AA and Certified Cook degree from Kapiolani College Culinary Arts and has trained with the American Culinary Institute. Additionally, he is a Certified Hotel Supervisor, a testament to his dedication to excellence in the hospitality industry.
Fun Fact
In his free time, Chef Dean enjoys snowboarding, playing billiards, taking scenic waterfront walks, and maintaining an active lifestyle at the gym. His passion for cooking and commitment to delighting guests ultimately inspired him to become a personal chef, where he continues to create exceptional culinary experiences.

About Down to Earth Cuisine
Down to Earth Cuisine provides meals that are sustainably and responsibly sourced. To help preserve this approach, we use GMO free products, organic when available and wild caught seafood approved by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Guide to Sustainable Fishing.
When we moved over to custom delivery services, it meant having to find new sustainable ways to deliver the meals, using only compostable containers to reduce use and purchasing of plastic. We also work with One Tree Planted a nonprofit organization that plants trees on our behalf to offset our carbon footprint.
