Chef Sarah PetitBon's Bio
Chef Sarah PetitBon received her culinary education from the International Institute of Culinary Arts, where she studied Culinary Arts, Pastry & Baking, and Hospitality Management. Her well-rounded training provided a strong foundation in both the technical and hospitality aspects of the culinary industry.
One of the most influential places Chef Sarah has ever worked was her father’s restaurant growing up. Working there gave her an appreciation for great food, but more importantly, it taught her the value of hard work, teamwork, and taking pride in creating a positive experience for others. Watching the dedication it took to run a successful family business inspired her own work ethic and showed her the importance of consistency, customer service, and attention to detail.
That experience also sparked her passion for food and hospitality. She learned that sharing a great meal brings people together, and she developed a genuine appreciation for the care and effort that goes into every guest’s experience. The lessons she learned there have stayed with her throughout her career and continue to influence how she approaches her work and interactions with others.
Chef Sarah gravitates toward vegan and plant-based cuisine, enjoying the creativity and versatility that comes with transforming fresh, wholesome ingredients into flavorful and satisfying dishes.
Her passion for cooking comes from both her father and her grandmother. Her father, a James Beard Award–nominated chef, showed her what excellence, creativity, and dedication look like in the kitchen. Watching him cook and lead a restaurant inspired her to appreciate the artistry and discipline behind great food.
Her grandmother influenced her in a different but equally meaningful way. She had an incredible ability to take just a few simple ingredients and turn them into a feast. She taught Chef Sarah that great cooking isn’t about having the most expensive ingredients—it’s about resourcefulness, love, and making people feel cared for through food.
Growing up with both of those influences gave Chef Sarah a deep appreciation for culinary arts. They showed her that food has the power to bring people together, tell a story, and create lasting memories. Their passion continues to inspire her every time she steps into the kitchen.
Outside of the kitchen, Chef Sarah enjoys practicing Kung Fu and Tai Chi with her wife, film photography, and gardening. She also shares her home with several rescue cats and dogs, and caring for them is a big part of her life. These hobbies help her stay creative, grounded, and balanced, while inspiring the patience and attention to detail she brings to her work.
