Chef TaCee West's Bio

Chef TaCee West studied at The Star Career Academy in NYC, where she developed her culinary foundation and passion for hospitality.

One of the places she’s most proud to have worked is MAKE Projects in San Diego. Her time there was incredibly influential because it pushed her to grow not only as a chef, but also as a person. Being part of a mission-driven organization that supported refugee and immigrant women through culinary training and employment opportunities was a very meaningful experience that influenced both her approach to food and the kind of hospitality professional she strives to be.

One experience Chef TaCee is especially proud of was having the opportunity to work for Kimora Lee Simmons. She was connected to the opportunity through a recommendation after someone experienced her food at a private gathering, which made the experience even more meaningful to her. It was a very validating moment in her career because it reinforced that her food, creativity, and attention to detail leave a lasting impression on people. Being trusted in that environment gave her confidence in her abilities and confirmed that pursuing private and luxury culinary work is truly the path she wants to continue building toward.

Chef TaCee enjoys pulling flavors from West Indian, Southern American, Asian, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisines, creating dishes that are bold, comforting, and full of personality.

Her passion for cooking began with good food and family. Her earliest memories revolve around family in the kitchen creating unforgettable meals, and she was inspired to create those same experiences for others through her cooking. Outside of the kitchen, she loves painting and coloring as creative outlets.

Fun Fact

A fun fact about Chef TaCee is that she can actually sing, although she is very shy and has terrible stage fright, so it’s very rare that people get to hear her sing.
