Someday Is Today!

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to the search for a cure for blood cancers. The organization’s Washington/Alaska chapter, based right here in Seattle, raises nearly $9 million annually by engaging members of our community in endurance events, stair climbs, walks, elementary school classroom competitions, and so on.

In support of this cause, LLS board member and longtime volunteer Lori Brown is hosting the second annual Someday is Today Chef competition on October 27, 2019, at Blue Ribbon Cooking in Eastlake. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle, enjoy a signature cocktail and candy-making demonstration, bid on silent auction items, and most importantly enjoy the culinary talents of Chef Adam Smith of Blue Ribbon and Chef David Boyd of Down to Earth Cuisine. We are so grateful for Adam and David’s time and talents!

We will also get to hear more about the life-saving research that LLS is funding. Since 2017, LLS has helped to advance 34 of the 40 drugs that have received FDA approval in the treatment of blood cancers, and we currently support seven researchers at Fred Hutch and Seattle Children’s, all of whom are developing revolutionary treatments for blood cancer patients. LLS also conducts patient outreach and educational programming and provides grants for patients and their families to cover costs incurred as a result of treatment, including co-pay assistance.

Support from guests at Someday is Today Chef really will help LLS find cures, and we look forward to seeing you on October 27!
