Chef Pierson's Bio
Pierson has been in the culinary industry for 15 years and cooking professionally for 10, he studied culinary art at the Art Institute. His favorite dishes to cook are from Latin cuisine having been influenced growing up in Southern California. He also enjoys cooking Asian Cuisine having spent time in Hawaii and growing up with a large Asian-cultural presence. While visiting family, he staged at Alan Wong’s on Oahu and was offered a job where he worked for the next 3 years honing his fine dining skills and getting to work with the beautiful bounty Hawaii has to offer.
He was brought to Seattle, where his wife is from, to work at The Herbfarm. It was there he learned what “fresh” means while cooking with ingredients directly from the restaurant's 5-acre farm. He headed south 3 miles to Ecolibrium Farms where he worked on his green thumb farming the freshest certified organic produce and showcasing them at meals on the farm and at local wineries at farm-to-table dinners.
On his off time, Pierson enjoys being outdoors whether that is camping with his wife and their dog or foraging for local mushrooms throughout the PNW amazing lush forests. He was lucky enough in Hawaii to be able to cook for President Obama on a couple occasions.
