Chef Maria's Bio

Chef Maria started cooking as a child with her grandma in the Philippines. She spent her teenage years in Saudi Arabia cooking for her family while learning about Middle Eastern cuisine. She specialized in Mediterranean cuisine after interning in Southern France and was stationed in the Army at JBLM in Tacoma.

After finishing her contract, she decided to stay in the area because she loved it. Her hobbies are interior design, painting, traveling, and trying new foods.

Fun Fact

Maria loves to travel and gain inspiration for her cooking. She’s also a pet lover.

About Down to Earth Cuisine

Down to Earth Cuisine provides meals that are sustainably and responsibly sourced. To help preserve this approach, we use GMO free products, organic when available and wild caught seafood approved by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Guide to Sustainable Fishing.

When we moved over to custom delivery services, it meant having to find new sustainable ways to deliver the meals, using only compostable containers to reduce use and purchasing of plastic. We also work with One Tree Planted a nonprofit organization that plants trees on our behalf to offset our carbon footprint.
